Living in the boom of the supplement era, finding something that’s healthy and beneficial is quite difficult due to the lack of requirement restrictions by the FDA. We’ve all seen that overzealous commercial that is guaranteeing to make you lose 20 pounds in 2 weeks.

If only it could be that simple.

Hopefully, you’re a sensible consumer and understand that losing weight takes hard work, consistency, and a good diet. All these elements must find the right balance within your life to achieve your fitness goals.

Even if you’re not a regular gym goer who takes pre-workouts, whey protein, BCAA’s, fish oils, and a list of other vitamins and nutrients, you still need to maintain a healthy intake of vitamins and minerals to balance your system.

The only problem we could have with this is the number of supplements one can get, and at the end of it can add up. So rather than spending a fortune at your local nutrition shop or online retailer, one must find great supplements that accomplish the most for your body’s overall health.

Think of it this way, if you only had a select few foods to eat, which foods would you choose and why? Asking yourself this question should help steer you in the right direction. Many people ignore the fact that you are what you eat, and continuing to stay ignorant in regards to what you’re consuming can lead to a slippery slope.

Simply put, not knowing what or why you’re eating a particular food is the root of many unhealthy diets.

For your ans visit the YouTube entitled 101 Black Seed Oil Benefits to consider… Then watch for benefit #80. I take the BSO capsules every day but never more than 3 tsp. worth (1 tbsp.) to avoid the more toxic levels. I also keep a bottle of the oil in my frig for emergency topical usages. It works very well for me, both inside and out.

I just read this and will be trying it asap… question: can ground cumin be used? If so, how? Can mixing the recipe above with orange juice lessen the benefits for weight loss? Thanks very much.

  2. candice says:

do you have to add the honey and cinnamon in order for weight loss? I have been taking the BSO alone with water.

    • Candiss says:

I am too large 288 & have moving issues w arthritis & my knees can this black seed oil help?

        • Stella Nova says:

you guys, re: weightloss, please keep in mind taking any sort of vitamin, oil or supplement does NOT take the place of a better diet & lifestyle. you must be willing to change how you eat. for example, eat to live – do not live to eat. it is not about perfection, b/c nothing is perfect w/our foods these days but rather it is about making better healthier choices, getting proper rest, light exercise (even if it is just walking) and drinking ample amounts of water (higher ph water or distilled)

    • Patricia teel says:

I really need to lose I’m 288 lbs & have arthritis in my knees which me walking a lot can black seed help??

      • FabiolafF says:

Based on what I’ve read so far … I think it will help. I just started taking it. Took it 1 st time straight .. GROSS! After more reading I did it with the honey and warm water – so much better. I’m currently back at the gym , so I’ll try the weight loss recipe.

      • chris says:

it will probably help with arthritis because it helps lower inflamation. once you take it for at least 3 weeks, your arthritis should be better. i would keep taking it to keep inflamation down. maybe that will help you move around more. remember the foods we eat have toxins that cause us to have all these deseases in the first place. try eating healthier and taking the black seed oil. you should be able to lose weight also. Good luck

  3. Andy Gold says:

The recommendation advice above to take 1-2 teaspoons twice a day is wrong. The typical dosage is 1 or 2 teaspoons per day. From what I’ve read, BSO can be toxic in larger dosages. Most recommend to take a teaspoon an hour before breakfast, and another teaspoon before bedtime. BSO is known to help you sleep better, but won’t make you drowsy during the day. I’ve only tried the Kiva brand, and although it has that Turpene taste, I don’t find it too objectionable, and I don’t get it repeating on me. This brand is far less nasty tasting than any of the oil of oregano varieties I’ve had, and does not burn like OoO.

Yes the seeds have to be roasted before you ground them and have a tea spoon of it in the morning and have a glass of warm water on top. You will feel full of energy and it raises the temperature of your body which means the warmer your body the more fat it burns. I like going for a 5 mile walk after a spoon of black seeds. Start with a tea spoon and depending on your tolerance you can up the dose or decrease it. I’m taking a table spoon in the morning and a table spoon at night before I go bed.
